Where to go?

Kittsee Castle

Kittsee Castle is one of the most important attractions in northern Burgenland. It was constructed at the start of the 17th century as a dairy farm, before being expanded into a castle. At the end of the 19th century Kittsee Castle became the home of Count Ladislaus Batthyány, who also went down in history as the poor man’s doctor. He had the castle converted and renovated in the Baroque style.

Heidenturm (Pagan tower)

These are the remnants of Michaelskirche, that survived the attack of the Turks in 1529 as the only building in a large surrounding area. The tower stands in the fields near Kittsee.
